About membership

The services and benefits by membership grade offered by the KOCIS Center are as follows.

(1) Associate Member (journalists): Apply for facility rental, research support, and international press card issuance or renewal (new)
(2) Regular Member (journalists with valid international press cards): Application for facility rental, research support, international press card issuance or renewal, event participation, and Korean language classes (3) Regular Member (public officials): Application for facility rental and posting of press releases

Consent to the Terms and Conditions

By submitting the application form for International Press Card(IPC) issuance, I hereby give consent to the collection and use of personal information by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as follows pursuant to Articles 15 and 17 of the Personal Information Protection Act.

(1) Purpose of Personal Information Collection and Usage
- To issue an International Press Card
- To check applicant and media information for events
- To support foreign journalists in their news coverage activities and notify them about events,* the distribution of reference materials, etc.
* Events include briefings, press conferences, interviews, forums, special coverage opportunities, press tours, cultural activities, etc.

(2) Collected Personal Information
- Mandatory: Name, date of birth, nationality, position, Seoul Foreign Correspondents’ Club membership status, type of visa, visa issuance date, visa expiration date, passport number, email address, mobile phone number, head office information (name, type of media, address, telephone number, website), Korean branch office information (name, address, telephone number), predecessor’s name, coverage history, education, and career
- Optional: Publications, awards, etc.

(3) Retention Period and Use of Collected Personal Information
- Three years. The information you provide shall be destroyed without any delay after the expiration of the retention period.

(4) Right to Refuse Consent and Related Consequences
- Consent to the collection and use of the mandatory information indicated above is necessary in order for us to provide our basic services. Related services can only be provided if you agree to provide that information.
- You may refuse the collection and use of optional personal information indicated above in accordance with Article 15 of the Personal Information Protection Act. Our policy is to continue to provide all goods and services regardless of your consent to the collection of optional information.
